Looks like it'll be boy, boy, girl, boy… boy.

Number five us

I spent my first three pregnancies avoiding unnecessary interventions, including routine ultrasounds, and feeling fine about it.

But I have to say… of all the expensive, usually-unnecessary interventions there are in the world of prenatal self-care, the 20-week scan — now that I judge it necessary — is kind of fun.

The young sir is doing fine, and so am I, and so is my placenta and all that stuff.

Cool trivia:  Estimated weight is 454 grams.

  2. Congratulations!
The 20 week scan is my favorite and most nerve-wracking intervention. I’m worried that everything is okay and excited to see the baby. I really like it when the ultrasound tech will actually talk to you and explain rather than robotically reply, “I cannot discuss it with you. I am not a doctor.” I’ve had both. :/
My family seems to be headed in the other direction: girl, girl, boy, girl. I expect that while my house has lots of tears and drama, your house has lots of wrestling and broken things?

  3. Jenny, We match you! Though we’ve gone a little farther…girl, girl, boy, girl, girl, girl, and ?.
I think everyone is rooting for a boy for us but we don’t have a great track record!
    Bearing,
    I forgot to mention how much I love the symmetry of 2b 1g 2b. I kept thinking ours would work out 2g 2b–nope. 2g 1b 2g 1b–nope. At this point…whatever. 🙂
    So happy for you!
