Never heard of this, but it looks sort of like a sliced version of frikadeller. Mmm. What I really noticed was the totally nice griddle you have. ๐

It is a nice griddle, but it was bought for a different stove and so it doesn’t cook very evenly.
Goetta was invented by German-Americans in Cincinnati. It is made by making a sort of porridge out of steel-cut oats and ground pork shoulder, seasoned with salt and black pepper and maybe onion and bay leaf. The porridge is packed into loaf pans to cool, then sliced. We fry the slices out flat on a dry griddle until they are very crispy, then eat them with ketchup or (my way) with a runny fried egg on top.LikeLike
