Guest posts, coming up: Topic bleg.

I was in Colorado all last week.  Did you miss me?

In the car on the way back, I had a conversation with my husband in which I think I might have convinced him to make a small series of guest posts here on humble bearing blog.

Ostensibly they will be on the topic "Weight Loss:  How to Be (Or Pretend To Be) The Supportive Spouse," with perhaps a small detour into "Who Not To Hire As Your Ice Climbing Guide."

Just in case any of my readers were thinking of taking up a new hobby.

Is there something you'd like to read from Spouse of Bearing?  Comment on this post with questions, suggestions for topics, etc.  I cannot make promises about what will be covered (or when, really) but I'll pass them on.

  1. Yes, of course we missed you! Write lots now that you’re back.
Spouse of Bearing: Don’t you just delight in waking up every morning, thinking, “Today I get to be married to my lovely smart fit modest wife for another day”? 😉 How about any reflections on the ice-climbing near miss?

How about a bit about the role as superintendent of schools for your homeschooling family? What works well, what doesn’t, what makes your wife (and primary homeschooling teacher) crazy and how not to do that, how to support said wife, and encourage children when the going gets rough. Maybe a sort-of guide for Dads in new homeschooling families…

I would be interested in reading about strategies for hiking with a larger family. How far do you go, what do your bring, who carries what, who carries whom? We currently have one child, so hiking is easy, but will have another in a few months. I (and my husband too, probably) would also be interested in a Dad’s perspective on homebirthing (we have one of those coming up, too).
