   Sounds about right…my wife and her family are from Turkey, and they are some whacky folks. They are furious we are raising our son Christian, asserting Turkey has always been Muslim. They have no sense of pre-Ottoman history.

   In Quebec, where I live, the English language as a whole is not welcome on public signs. At one point, it was banned entirely, but an amendment to that fascistic law some years ago now allows the public display of English, as long as it’s half the size of the French words. So Turkey is by no means alone in its draconian attitude.
