I'm asking the other homeschooling moms. Do you deliberately put any kind of "mom's break" into your day? One where all the children, not counting little nurslings, are all supposed to go do something and not bother you for a little while, while you take a breather, have a cup of tea, read blogs, eat your lunch, take a nap, or any of that stuff?
Do you get a break?

Yes, I schedule an hour for myself. Right now, the 2 1/2 year old takes a nap after lunch. The 7 and 5 year olds get to play on the computer or watch tv (in winter and rainy days) for 30 minutes each.
Currently, I usually nap for at least half an hour because I’m pregnant and exhausted. At other times, I use the time for reading, personal projects, internet time, etc. Like you, I feel refreshed and ready to be a better mom for the second half of the day after my break.LikeLike

I don’t intentionally schedule a break into my day (mostly because I’m so lousy at scheduling anything) but usually the girls play or watch a movie after lunch. I never use that time very productively, I have to admit. Probably things would go a lot smoother here if I scheduled the rest period for the same time every day and made my girls adhere to that regimen.

Yup. I eat lunch alone, too. Then, the big kids have “project time or reading time” after lunch also known around our house as “quiet time”. I get one little boy nursed down and I go lay down with the other little boy for a sweet short nap. I usually take about 30 – 45 minutes. I come down and do a read aloud, then we finish work if necessary and do after school chores.
